The short version
Your mems are yours. We store what you capture so your Scout can bring it back to you, we never sell your data, and nothing you save is visible to anyone else unless you deliberately share it into a circle.
What we collect
- Account details — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we can never see the password itself).
- Your mems — the thoughts, reminders, tasks, and notes you capture, by voice or by typing, along with times and categories.
- Circle activity — if you share a mem into a circle, its members can see it, mark it seen, or complete it; those receipts are stored too.
How AI is involved
MemScout uses OpenAI's services to make your Scout work: voice recordings are transcribed to text, captured text is classified (is it a reminder? when is it due?), and your mems are indexed so you can recall them by meaning. That processing happens only to serve you — your content is not used to train AI models by us.
Who can see your mems
- Only you, by default. Every mem is private to your account.
- If you share a mem into a circle, the members of that circle can see it.
- We never sell or rent your data to anyone.
Where your data lives
Your mems are stored in a managed database. Voice recordings are transcribed and are not kept after transcription — only the text is stored.
Deleting your data
You can delete any mem from inside the app at any time — deleting it also removes it from any circles it was shared into. If you want your whole account removed, contact us and we'll take care of it.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, reach out through the app or to the person who invited you — we're happy to explain.
